Why employment equity? The purpose of this workshop is to familiarize employees with the purpose and benefits of the Employment Equity Act and examine the myths and realities associated with its implementation. Participants will acquire a better understanding of the respective roles and responsibilities of all parties in the application of this Act.  Using interactive activities and open dialogue, the workshop will help participants work together to create a positive climate for employment equity initiatives. The Joint Learning Program initiative reflects the commitment from both the union and the employer to a diverse and inclusive Federal Public Service. Pourquoi l'équité en matière d'emploi ? Cet atelier a pour but de familiariser les employés avec les objectifs et avantages de la Loi sur l’équité en matière d’emploi et d’examiner les mythes et réalités concernant son application.  Les participants acquerront une meilleure compréhension des rôles et responsabilités respectifs de toutes les parties dans l’application de cette loi.  Grâce à des activités interactives et à un dialogue ouvert, l’atelier aidera les participants à travailler ensemble à la création d’un climat favorable aux initiatives d’équité en matière d’emploi.
